Science Happens 4 Me works to build stronger communities of students seeking STEM-base careers and connect individuals to important resources.

Science Happens 4 Me advocates for the well-being of underserved minority students by developing networks of educational and STEM-based summer programs with local school systems in North Carolina.

Science Happens 4 Me is designed to enhance the learning potential of low-income, rural, and high functioning special needs students will scientific skills needed in the 21st century companies that enable students to complete and obtain employable skills in STEM based careers. Science Happens 4 Me offers STEM based activities and programs for underserved, minority, and disadvantaged students living within Research Triangle Park (RTP) Area and surrounding areas in North Carolina. Science Happens 4 Me offers summer programs for girls in STEM and a Basic Boot Camp for boys in Robotics throughout the school year.

OUR GOALS

We aim to help underserved students break through systematic barriers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), by encouraging them to explore careers in those fields.

Parental/guardian involvement is critical. We know that a student’s growth and development begin with the parental/guardian foundation. The core approach breaks into three dimensions that we call our core principles: Mentoring, Tutoring, and Field Experiences.

Given the significant unmet demand, we are reaching out to population of students in North Carolina, to expand the scope of our outreach for STEM-based careers paths. Science Happens 4 Me is currently working on establishing a sound working relationship with local nonprofit community-based organizations to provide STEM-base after-school activities for their underserved student populations. This process enables local community-based organizations to provide instructional support, testing and access to STEM-based activities within their underserved student populations and community centers resulting in individuals in those facilities receiving exciting STEM-base access and mentors form local business and university officials.
